A small pub with a lot going on

The Corner Tavern is a two-storey mechanical miniature built around a busy European street corner. Bottles, barrels and stools fill the downstairs bar. Upstairs, there is a brewing room, a wine rack, a terrace and warm rooms behind the windows. A dog waits beside the front door, a cat sleeps above the sign, and the exposed mechanism occupies one whole side of the building.

The mechanism stays in view

The large wooden wheel, visible gear linkage and rotating wine rack make it easy to follow the mechanical side of the model. When the transmission runs, the windmill and connected parts begin to move. The bottle-shaped street sign can also be turned to change the front of the tavern.

The touch control follows a simple four-step sequence. The first tap turns on the lights. The second adds mechanical movement. The third adds the built-in music while the lights and mechanism continue to run. The fourth switches everything off.

Five separate points of light

The background light, window light, bedroom lamp, room light and bar lamp illuminate different parts of the house. Because the light is spread across the model, the lower bar and upstairs rooms remain easy to distinguish when the tavern is switched on.

485 pieces, assembled without glue

The precision-cut MDF parts are clearly labeled and connect through mortise-and-tenon joints, so glue is not required. The illustrated manual takes you through the rooms first and then the wheel, windmill, wine rack and gear linkage.

All auxiliary assembly tools are included. This is an advanced project for ages 14 and above, with an estimated build time of 8–12 hours.

This is a complete 360-degree house rather than a flat-fronted scene. The bar, side stairs, terrace, exterior signs, upper rooms and exposed mechanism can all be viewed after the model is finished.

Some of our kits do not require liquid glue, as they include double-sided tapes or stickers inside the package. When your kit does call for glue, we recommend using clear craft adhesives:

  • Alcohol-based glue — dries quickly and provides a very strong hold, ideal for delicate miniature assembly.
  • White PVA glue — works best for bonding paper and wooden pieces, offering a clean and reliable finish.
    These options ensure your miniature stays sturdy and neat throughout the build.
